Updated: Oct 4, 2021
Are you an aspiring or renowned business person? Then, let's be SMART.
In every aspect of one's life; their personal, professional or work life, they must have a sense of direction, motivation, and a clear focus on goals they intend to achieve.
In the workplace, goals are set by supervisors or managers to achieve a desired outcome within a realistic timeline aligned with the organization's vision and mission. Achieving these goals result in growth, success and viability for the employees and by extension, the firm as a functioning entity.
In one's personal life, goals are set by us to achieve certain things, for example,
re-painting the house. This requires answers to the following questions: what are the resources needed? How much resources are needed? Timeline to complete the goal? Amount of funds required for the job? How is this measurable? Is it achievable within the desired timeline?
To achieve these goals, they must be SMART.
SMART GOALS:
S---Specific: Well defined, clear, and unambiguous
M--Measurable: With specific criteria that measure your progress toward the accomplishment of the goal
A---Achievable: Attainable and not impossible to achieve
R---Realistic: Within reach, realistic, and relevant to your life purpose
T----Timely: The goal must have a realistic deadline.
